Last Updated on January 8, 2022 by Road To Free Life

When a new year starts, it’s the perfect time to develop new habits and set new goals. Here it is a list of different ways to save money every month and throughout the year. You may already know some of the ways below, but you may find something new that will help you cut back on your spending.
Below are over 20 different ways to save money each month. If you do all of them, you may be able to save thousands of dollars each year. Remember, every little saving can add up to be a lot!

Start a blog.

This is not a way to cut off your expenses, but there are many ways a blog can help you save money. I started my blog just 2 months ago, and I already made over $100 just by writing a few posts. And I know there are a lot of people who made thousands of dollars every month.

If you are interested in starting a blog of your own, I made a tutorial that will help you start a blog of your own for cheap, for just $3.95 per month (this low price is only through my link and for a limited time) for blog hosting. In addition to the low pricing, you will receive a free blog domain (a $15 value) through my Bluehost link if you purchase at least 12 months of blog hosting.

Eat out less.

A big expense in our daily lives is eating out. A person spends on average around $2000 a year eating out. Restaurants are expensive and it’s much cheaper to cook your own food.

Get rid of cable to save money.

Cut off your cable is not only a way to save money, but it will also help you to save some time and make something that can really matter for you.

Use the library.

Instead of buying books, check them out. Most libraries have a great selection of DVDs, audio books and magazines saving you even more. Of course, if you really like a book, then you should buy it.

Commute by bike.

Even if you own a car, commuting by bike will save you money on fuel, and keep you fit at the same time. I highly recommend if it’s possible.

Stop smoking.

You could save around $200 each month if you quit smoking.

Do it yourself.

There are many things around the house that you can do it yourself, instead of hiring someone to do something. Sure, it takes some time and effort, but it’s satisfying, and of course cheaper. It’s also educational, and if you don’t know how to do it, do an online search, and give it a go.

Save energy.

There are little things we can do to lower our power bill.

Save gas.

With the rising price of gas, fuel has become a high monthly expense for many people. Small things can add up to big savings.

Drink water.

Often we drink lots of calories through sodas, coffee, alcohol, juices or tea. And that costs a lot too. Drink water, save money and save calories.

Stop paying interest.

Try to pay off your debt as soon as possible. Paying interest is just making you lose money.

Purchase a water filter to save money on water.

The average person in the U.S. spends around $100 per year on bottled water. Instead of spending $100 on bottled water each year, you can drink the water from your home for almost free.

Drive a non-expensive car.

Driving a more affordable car will help you put more money aside.

Switch to free banking

If you’re paying for bank services, you should change it for a free bank.

Make a shopping list

Always have a list before you go
