How To Make Money on Etsy, Selling Digital Products

Last Updated on February 2, 2022 by Road To Free Life

If you’ve never heard of Etsy, it’s an online marketplace designed specifically for selling unique products. You can sell pretty much anything, from greetings cards, clothes to digital downloads. The best part is that once you have a digital product you can keep selling it for as much as possible.  The process is simple. All you have to do is to create a digital product, list it on Etsy, and collect the money after the customers buy the product.

First, you need to decide what kind of digital product would you like to sell. But don’t waste to much time here, because the best thing to do is to start with a few different digital products and after you see which one works, you can stick on that.

I will give you some examples of digital products that you can create and sell on Etsy: Inspirational Wall Quotes, Weekly Planners, Blog Content Planner, Budget Planners, Nursery Artwork, Greeting Cards, Invitations, Marketing Material. You will find a list with some examples at the end of the post.

Step 1. Create your first product.

It’s easier than you think to create a digital product. You can go to PickMoney or Canva and start working on your products. Another way is to go on Fiverr.com and you can have one or more products made by professionals creators for just $5. Another option is to create it by hand an scan it on your computer.

Step 2.  Create an Etsy account

You will get 40 free listings if you register through this link.  And I highly recommend you to do that, otherwise, if you go directly to Etsy.com you will need to pay $0.20 for each listing.

Step 3. Listing your product on Etsy.

To list a product sing into your Etsy account and got to Shop Manager > Listings and click on Add a Listing button on the top right. Complete your listing details, set a price and upload the files, then publish your listing.

Some useful tips to succeed on Etsy:

  • Try a few different options for digital products and see what works.
  • Complete the description and all the information about your store.
  • Don’t set your price too low or too high. Most of the people are looking for a medium price.
  • More products you have, more chances to make sales.
